Maps
My maps come in two styles: the classic, topical map with icons representing events or buildings, and the “elevated,” or 3D, illustrated map that shows terrain. Mix and match, request away! My maps have been used for Save the Dates, anniversary gifts, business locations, parties and more...
The Four Map Options
When you are ordering I will ask you which map you are interested in purchasing. I offer four distinct map options that range in price. No matter which map you choose, you can still add customized items to each.
Each map includes:
A floating map, one bundle of stock, optional icons: a sailboat, an airplane, rings, cake, one custom icon representing the particular area of the wedding (ie, the Red Wing symbol for Red Wing, MN), and an optional border (see examples below). Each type of map includes a unique set of additional items.
1.The Simple Flat Map
This map shows a bird’s eye view of an area with simple lines representing roads. Everything on this map is represented by a fun icon. In addition to the stock icons, you may choose up to five custom icons.
2.The Complex Flat Map
This map is nearly the same as the simple flat map, the difference is this map has complex, 3D illustrations. In addition to the stock icons you may choose up to five custom illustrations as well as digital color added to the map.
3.The Simple Elevated Map
The elevated, or 3D, map shows terrain and perspective (ie, if the church is the most important, it can be in the foreground). In addition to the stock icons, you may choose up to four custom, complex illustrations. Elevated maps are a great choice when looking to showcase the natural beauty of a wedding site or just to add more character to any map.
4.The Complex Elevated Map
Similar to the Simple Elevated map, this map shows terrain and perspective (ie, if the church is the most important, it can be in the foreground). In addition to the stock icons you may choose up to nine custom illustrations, digital color, and custom styling such as a custom border, a bird and guitar to match a wedding theme, or a small crest. If you would like local landmarks highlighted as complex illustrations (“the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, the waterfront of Sausalito,” for example), along with the wedding sites, this is the map style you may want to choose.

Extras
These can be added to any map and include extra icons, borders, crests, silhouettes, portraits, etc. Don’t be afraid to ask for something special!
Icon Bundles
(see the Icons & Styling page for examples):
Icon bundles consist of up to five icons, either complex or simple.
Color
(See the Icons & Styling page for examples)
Color can mean two things: digital or hand watercolored.
A watercolored map must be requested at the beginning and cannot include a black and white version due to the nature of watercolor and my own process.
Digital Color can be added to any map (not including the watercolored map). Digital color can mean that the entire map, including roads and text, can be in a different color - choose a color scheme or match a suite.

Proofs
One proof is standard though of course we will work together to make your map the way you would like it. The first proof that I email will be a full illustration including all of the elements we discussed. If there is something missing or a building is in the wrong place (it happens!) I will move it toute de suite. However, if you suddenly realize that you would like an entirely new perspective, a new proof fee of $15.00 will apply.
